Cole
In memory of Cole, our darling boy so true,
With fur as night, and eyes that held the morning dew.
In shadows cast by dawn’s first light, you’d sit and gaze,
Upon the world you claimed as yours, through all your days.
Cole, our silent watcher, steadfast, wild, and free,
Found solace in a spot, where you would be.
Waiting for the whisper of footsteps, soft and near,
Bringing forth the promise of love, and comfort dear.
Your presence was a constant, like stars in the night’s embrace,
A feral spirit, yet bound to us, across time and space.
With every sunrise, your silhouette, a sight so rare,
A guardian of the threshold, between here and everywhere.
But time, the thief, came whispering, with illness in its wake,
And we, with heavy hearts, a painful choice did make.
To spare you from the shadows that crept with silent tread,
And lay you down to sleep, where angels fear to tread.
Yet in our hearts, dear Cole, your spirit lingers still,
In every whispered wind, in every rolling hill.
Your memory, a beacon, that guides us through the night,
A reminder of your essence, pure, and filled with light.
Farewell, our darling boy, your journey now complete,
In fields beyond the rainbow, may peace and joy you meet.
For though we had to say goodbye, in love we understand,
You’ll always be a part of us, in this and every land.
