Diesel
Between the containers, where shadows play,
A spirited tuxedo made his own way.
Diesel, the prowler of Paarden Eiland’s street,
With a curious heart and quick little feet.
In the rustling grass, you chased and explored,
A young adventurer we deeply adored.
You followed my car, your bright eyes aglow,
For you knew in your soul where love would flow.
To the feed station, you’d eagerly trail,
A promise of love in each hearty meal.
With Paco, Chanel, and Izzy beside,
Your family of tuxedos, your joy, your pride.
The containers now echo your daring leaps,
The streets remember the secrets you keep.
Though one year was brief, your mark will remain,
A star among shadows, in each drop of rain.
Diesel, dear wanderer, roam wild and free,
In a place without hunger, where love is the sea.
Paarden Eiland mourns, but we hold you near,
Our little tuxedo, forever dear.
