Sweetpea
Beneath the golden sun you’d lay,
In quiet grace, you’d spend the day.
Our gentle ginger, soft and bright,
You filled our world with purest light.
With every touch, you’d slow the pace,
No rush, no fear, just warm embrace.
“Oh, you want to pet me?” you’d seem to say,
“Let’s take our time, there’s no other way.”
Your heart of gold, so sweet and true,
A little island, safe with you.
Though bold you were, with spirit high,
You always shared a gentle sigh.
Before your meal, a ritual dear,
Head rubs and love, always near.
For how could you eat with an empty heart?
Affection and care must come from the start.
Through rain and storm, you held your ground,
In every moment, love was found.
Our island cat, with eyes so kind,
Forever in our hearts you’ll bind.
Now heaven holds your golden glow,
Our sweetest pea, we’ll miss you so.
But in each sunbeam, soft and warm,
We’ll feel your love, your lasting form.
Rest now, dear Sweetpea, sweet and bold,
Our golden angel with a heart of gold.
